Our scale uses an average upright humanoid as its reference: 32 mm from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head, excluding the base, headgear and raised equipment. Other creatures are scaled against this reference, so a dragon at 32 mm scale can be much taller than 32 mm.
32 mm is our standard for the DnD tabletop. Check the base diameter against your battlemap: figure height and the space occupied in play are different measurements.
54 mm uses a correspondingly larger humanoid reference. The enlarged version provides more room for painting but also needs more display or tabletop space.
